3D Shapes!

WALT: identify the properties of 3D shapes
TASK DESCRIPTION: for today's maths work we took a look at the properties of 3D shapes. We created our very own prism with paper straws and pipe cleaners. We also learnt about polyhedrons and tetrahedron.

Te Whare Tapa Wha -Kid President-


TASK DESCRIPTION: for today's Te Whare Tapa Wha work we watched a 3 minute video about 20 things we should say more often in the world. For our create task we had to write down 3 things we think should be said more often.

The Triangle △ ▽ ◣

WALT: Group basic 2D shapes based on their properties  
TASK DESCRIPTION: For today's maths work we had to describe the types of triangles based on their properties. We also had to name the angles, obtuse, acute, reflex, right angle (90 degrees), and180 degrees angle. Obtuse is an angle that is more than 90 but less than 180, an acute angle is less than 90 degrees. A reflex angle is more than 180 but less than 360. 90 degrees is a quarter of 360 and is known as the right angle.

TASK DESCRIPTION:for this week's reading task we had to read a text about washing your hands and the steps. We then got into a group and group each sentence into a word group. We also had to create a diagram showing the steps to how to wash your hand properly.

The Quadrilaterals

TASK DESCRIPTION: for today's maths work we had to separate and group quadrilateral shapes with the non quadrilateral shapes. We also had to separate parallelograms and the non parallelograms.

TASK DESCRIPTION: for today's Te Whare Tapa Wha task we had to watch a small video of Zaeeda sitting in silence and writing down 5 things she is grateful for. We then had to write down 3-5 things we were grateful to have in our life.

TASK DESCRIPTION: for today's Te Whare Tapa Wha work we had to write down our favourite healthy snack/meal. We had to write down a small recipe and steps for the snack/meal. I also wrote why eating healthy is important physically and mentally!

TASK DESCRIPTION: for today's maths work we got to play around with some tooth picks to create our own shapes. We also learnt the differences between regular and irregular shapes, we also learnt how to differentiate the shapes depending on the names.

The Hydrosphere {facts poster}

This is the extra work for those who finished first and for those who are experts. For this extra task we were asked to present facts about the hydrosphere either in a poster, screencastify or a slide show.

For this weeks inquiry work we took a look at the hydrosphere. We wrote down what we had already knew, wanted to know, and what we found out. Then wrote a small explanation of what the hydrosphere is.
