This week’s book is called Reconnecting the Brain this book is a non-fiction book it is about a neurobiologist named Melanie Cheung and she is working on the cure for the Huntington’s Disease.
It later explains that the Huntington’s Disease is only passed down by a family member that is effected and you cannot get it from other people. In the book it also tells you that while Melanie was searching for a solution she heard about a world leading American Neuroscientist called Dr Mike Merzenich, twenty whole years ago people used to think that once you have turned 18 your brain would stop learning new things and that is when your brain cells start to die.
I liked this book because it shows that being a scientist is actually not as boring as people tell you, and that if you want to become a scientist you can become one you just have to try. Another thing I liked about this book is because it tells you about building new pathways in your brain and it tells you and shows you how it’s like to be a neurobiologist.
I recommend this article to kids and adults who have been wanting to become a scientist but have been shy to be one, and also I recommend this article to people who are interested in neurobiologists, neuroscientists and if you are just interested in studying on the brain then check out this article
